We’ve been part of our community for nearly 50 years, and thanks to the generosity of our supporters, we continue to offer specialist-led services across the region.

In our purpose-built facility, exercisers regain confidence, stay active and take control of their health – guided by skilled instructors and tailored programmes with medical oversight.

Working alongside local healthcare professionals, we deliver trusted, evidence-based exercise programmes that prevent illness, support recovery and address complex long-term conditions, going far beyond ordinary fitness centres.

Our qualified instructors are guided by programmes that have been designed by the British Association for Cardiovascular Prevention and Rehabilitation.

Cardiac Health has pioneered community-based cardiac rehabilitation and prevention in the UK. We continue to offer over 50 hours of supervised exercise sessions at our purpose-builf facility in Alton.

We operate in a purpose-built premises in Hampshire

Our programmes and facilities are essential for successful cardiac rehabilitation and prevention. You can refer yourself for or be referred by a GP or Hospital Consultant.

We provide

  • Facilities for an NHS clinical team to run Phase III cardiac rehabilitation courses for patients discharged from the North Hampshire Hospital in Basingstoke (and from other hospitals on request). The hospital also runs a Rapid Access Chest Pain Clinic from our site.
  • Our own Phase IV cardiac rehabilitation continuing exercise sessions, open to anyone referred to us by a health professional.
  • Cardiovascular exercise programmes that address prevention of cardiovascular disease as well as other long-term conditions including cancer and pulmonary disease.
  • Specialist exercise programmes to help build strength and balance to prevent falls.

Did you Know?

It costs over £380,000 to run our specialist facility. Many of our exercisers contribute towards the cost of their sessions, but we must raise over £200,000 each year through donations and fundraising events.
