Introducing
Cardiac Health

Cardiac Rehab is now Cardiac Health

Our mission hasn't changed - it's expanded

At Cardiac Health, we believe stronger, healthier lives are built together.

Under the name Cardiac Rehab we’ve been part of our community for nearly 50 years, and thanks to the generosity of our supporters, we continue to offer specialist-led services across the region.

In our purpose-built facility, exercisers regain confidence, stay active and take control of their health – guided by skilled instructors and tailored programmes with medical oversight. Working alongside local healthcare professionals, we deliver trusted, evidence-based exercise programmes that prevent illness, support recovery and address complex long-term conditions, going far beyond ordinary fitness centres.

Our mission hasn’t changed, but how we deliver it has evolved, and who we help has expanded. Together we’re building stronger, healthier lives.

Why Cardiac Health?

Cardiac maintains the trust and recognition that we’ve built up over many years, whilst continuing to convey our specialist expertise.

Health shows that we’re now more than ‘just’ rehab after a cardiac event. Health speaks to prevention as well as recovery, and also the wider conditions, such as cancer and pulmonary disease, that we now support.

In short, we’re confident that in Cardiac Health we now have a more modern, forward-looking name that captures who we are and where we’re heading.

What won’t change…

The expert support, services, programmes and care that our exercisers know and trust will continue exactly as before. Our team is excited about this change, but it won’t affect our fundamental desire to help our exercisers be fitter and healthier.

‘Cardiac Health, Fitness for Life’ represents an exciting new chapter in our journey; it aims to capture everything we do, supporting recovery, preventing illness and helping people live longer, healthier lives.

Frequently asked questions

  1. Why change did you need to change your name? Over the past 3-4 years our services have evolved to support more long-term conditions and focus on prevention as well as rehabilitation. To ensure our healthcare partners and supporters understand what we do now we needed a new brand name and logo to demonstrate our broader focus on health.
  2. Who was involved in choosing the new name? Our Board, CEO and team at Cardiac Health led the process, but our healthcare partners, exercisers and supporters all provided valuable feedback throughout the process.
  3. Why change your strapline too? As we widen our remit to support more people and more health conditions our strapline needs to reflect this. Heart health remains a priority, but a healthier heart is just one part of overall ‘fitness for life’.
  4. What other programmes will you be running? A new strategy, to ensure the sustainability of the charity, has seen our services evolve over the past 3-4 years. We now support more long-term health conditions and focus more on prevention than rehabilitation. In the short term we are looking to add Stroke rehabilitation sessions and targeted programmes for other conditions like Menopause.
  5. How will this impact your current exercisers and supporters? We hope that current exercisers and supporters are excited by our plans to help more local people be healthier together, through supervised, targeted exercise programmes. We welcome advocates, ambassadors and friends who can help us spread the word about our work and new name.
  6. Will this change how you work with local GPs and other healthcare professionals? All of our programmes will continue to be medically-led and exercisers with more serious conditions will see our consulting GP for assesment to ensure they exercise safely get the most benefit from their effort. GPs and other healthcare professionals can continue to recommend our services knowing that their patients will be closely supervised by the whole team.
  7. Are you programmes still evidence-based and medically led? Our programmes continue to be led by evidence and medically supervised. Our programmes have been specially designed to support people who have been unwell or inactive, so they can start exercising safely and confidently, using proven methods to improve their health outcomes.
