Grow a Tenner launches in March
As we celebrate 50 years of Cardiac Health we believe the lifeline we offer our exercisers is now more important than ever. By signing up to ‘Grow a Tenner’ you can raise money for Cardiac Health to support more exercisers without spending a penny of your own money!
How does it work? During the month of March we’ll be signing out a £10 note to people keen to ‘invest’ this money in making a small profit. Everyone who takes £10 guarantees they will return the original £10 back at the end of September, plus any additional funds they raise over the summer.
Does it work? This is a tried and tested way for people to use their skills and interests to raise money for charity. Some other people have had success with:
- Entertaining – hosting events, like sporting lunches, garden parties, BBQs, afternoon teas or meals for friends.
- Offering services – car washing, gardening, babysitting, dog walking, ironing or cleaning.
- Making and selling – preserves, cakes, bread, knitwear, crafts, jewellery, cards, tags, seasonal wreaths
- Growing – plants, herbs, cuttings, seedlings, produce, flowers
Guidance on taking part:
- Each individual can only receive £10, but you can ‘pool’ your initial funding with other people to run larger activities.
- There is no need to use any of your own money, part of the ‘challenge’ is to make money from only £10.
- You can run an activity once, then reinvest any proceeds, running that activity again or trying something different
- Tell us what you’re working on, so we can share good ideas.
- Nick and Ann, the volunteers who are helping us with this project will keep in touch to give help, guidance and encouragement throughout.
- If we have enough interest we may organise a ‘makers market’ to help you ‘sell’ any remaining stock in September.
