We run regular training courses to help in emergency situations.
Certified Courses
The following courses are certified by NUCO training and certificates are valid for three years.
Emergency First Aid at Work (Level 3)
If your workplace first aid risk assessment indentifies the need for an Emergency First Aider in the Workplace, this one-day qualification meets the requirements of the Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981. This qualification is also suitable for first aid for voluntary and community groups.
Our courses, which have a maximum of 12 attendees, are run from a dedicated and quiet learning space in Cardiac Health, Alton.
Our Emergency First Aid at Work qualification is valid for 3 years and compliant with the Resuscitation Council (UK) Guidelines. At the end of the course the learner will be able to:
- understand the roles and responsibilities of a first aider
- assess an emergency situation
- provide first aid to a casualty who is choking or unresponsive
- identify when to use CPR and demonstrate CPR on a manikin
- know when to put a caaulty into the recovery position and monitor their breathing correctly
- provide first aid to a casualty with external bleeding
- know how to provide first aid to a casualty who is suffering from shock
The qualified first aider will also be able to help a casualty with minor injuries including:
- small cuts
- grazes
- bruising
- small splinters
- nosebleeds
- minor burns and scalds
Where possible we use training scenarios that recreate real-life situations to help learners demonstrate their knowledge and practical skills.
We are running Emergency First Aid at Work course between 12:00 and 18:00 on the following dates:
- Monday 1 June 2026
- Monday 7 September 2026
- Monday 7 December 2026
Basic Life Support (Level 3)
This course is suitable for anyone who is interested in dealing with an unconscious casualty who is breathing normally, or not. The three-hour course covers managing an incident, maintaining an open airway for a breathing casualty and resuscitation (CPR) for a casualty who is not breathing normally.
Non-Certified Courses
Our non-certified courses provide a thorough understanding of basic first aid techniques.
Introduction to CPR and defibrillation
This 2-hour course covers the basics of CPR including guidance on using an automated external defibrillator (AED) in an emergency situation.
This course give a thorough understanding of basic first aid, but does not lead to a First Aid certificate.
