Don’t Kill Granny

Sorry, no blog this week, just an advert – for a talk I will be giving on Thursday 2nd July at The Assembly Rooms in Alton – “Don’t Kill Granny”.

The Event starts at 7pm and costs £18 which includes a drink of wine. To get a ticket go to

and sign up. We still have a few tickets.
This event celebrates the 50th anniversary the Basingstoke & Alton Cardiac Rehabilitation Centre, now known as “Cardiac Health”. We were the first community-based cardiac rehabilitation unit in the UK. I will be describing how and why we set up the Charity in 1976 and how and why it has evolved since then.

“Don’t kill Granny!” was a favourite cry during the Covid pandemic. This meant isolating Granny from all possible activities and contacts – the very opposite to what I am going to recommend to keep her alive – and well – now that the pandemic is behind us.

Do come along – and I look forward to meeting you  all then.
