Steady & Strong
Aimed at the over 65s, Steady & Strong classes are designed to help you regain and maintain strength, balance and coordination to help you live independently and actively for longer and help reduce the risk of falls.
We will provide a free 20 minute assessment, either face to face or over the telephone, before starting your Steady and Strong exercise classes.
Steady & Strong will help you to:
- Increase your confidence
- Improve your balance
- Learn how to get down to the floor safely and up again
- Increase your strength
- Increase your stamina
We offer two types Steady & Strong classes:
- A lower-level class with a mixture of seated and standing exercises using hand weight/resistance bands
- A floor-based class – participants must be able to get to/from the floor with the aid of a chair
We will discuss the best option at your initial telephone assessment.
Steady & Strong is a partnership between Hampshire County Council, Southern Health and Community Exercise Instructors.
